Webinar: Navigating CA’s New Pay Transparency Law

Effective January 1, 2023, California and other states will have in effect a new broad pay transparency bill requiring employers to include pay ranges in all job advertisements. The bill also requires employers to submit expanded annual pay data reports that include pay data on employees hired through labor contractors to the California Civil Rights Department (CRD) beginning May 10, 2023.  This webinar will provide practical insights on:

  • The pay disclosure requirements
  • The pay data requirements
  • How best to comply with these requirements, including why you should conduct a pay audit.

Ms. Hieu Williams is a partner with Hirschfeld Kraemer. She is an experienced trial attorney who advocates on behalf of companies, supervisors, and human resource professionals against employment related claims.  In addition to being a litigator, she partners with her clients to strategically develop sound policies and procedures and provides practical guidance to situation that pop up, to mitigate against the risk of litigation.

 

 

 

Anna T. Pham is an associate in the San Francisco office of Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP. She has experience representing employers in state and federal court involving Title VII, Fair Employment and Housing Act, California Labor Code, and Americans with Disabilities Act claims. She has defended clients through administrative investigations before the DFEH and EEOC. She also provides advice and counseling to clients on employee handbooks, training, and internal investigations.

 

 

 

Mike DuMond, Ph.D., Managing Director at Berkeley Research Group.  Dr. DuMond is a labor economist with extensive experience in matters involving pay equity, wage and hour compliance, and the calculation of economic exposure.  In his work, he prepares and analyzes complex electronic databases for employment litigation and monitoring purposes.  He holds a Ph.D in economics with concentrations in labor economics and economic demography, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
